A compliance review: how they're currently handling fringe, whether records are audit-ready, and where the gaps are

A fringe cost model showing their current structure vs. what CVRD would deliver
What CVRD adds that most incumbents don’t have
Everyone else handles part of it.
CVRD handles all of it.
Category | The incumbents | |
|---|---|---|
Fringe TPAs | Traditional fringe TPAs typically don't offer penny-level tracking or on-demand DOL audit reporting. | Real-time tracking for every fringe dollar earned and allocated, to the penny. |
ICHRA Vendors | Generic ICHRA vendors are built for the average commercial employer and aren't designed for fringe compliance. The gap shows up at audit time. | Built specifically for fringe compliance — so the gap never shows up at audit time. |
Cash fringe | For clients paying fringe as cash, the tax cost is rarely modeled, the math stays invisible. | CVRD tracks and calculates the cost of cash-in-lieu vs. a structured benefits approach, and shows the math side by side and in real time. |

How does CVRD work alongside brokers?
Most of our clients come through brokers, and we work hard to be the kind of partner they bring back. We don't quote against you and we don't take over benefits strategy. We want our clients to keep the advisor they trust, and we work alongside you to add a compliance and administration layer built for their prevailing wage work. In practice you handle strategy, carriers, and renewals; we handle fringe calculation, enrollment, administration, prevailing wage compliance, and the reporting the contracting officer and auditors will ask for.
Does bringing in CVRD change my role or economics on the account?
Very little changes about how you serve the client. Group and ancillary lines can continue to run through you as they do today. ICHRA is structured differently from a traditional group placement, so we work through what that looks like for your practice early. We want GovCon to be a book worth building rather than a one-time referral. Our fee is a flat per-employee rate based on the platform and services performed, so nothing about how we're paid should interfere with your existing structure.
Which of my clients are a good fit, and do I need GovCon expertise to bring us in?
CVRD works specifically with government contractors that have fringe obligations. Many of our clients run commercial business alongside their contracts, and we can accommodate both. Our happiest customers tend to be the ones paying fringe as cash and feeling the tax burden, running a group plan that's outgrowing the H&W rate, or reconciling fringe in spreadsheets every period and ready to be done with it. You don't need prevailing wage expertise. That part is ours to bring. All we ask is a seat at the table with you. Fringe and ICHRA get garbled fast secondhand, especially together, and the conversation goes better when you lead on strategy and we handle the technical questions as they come.
